How does the online registration process work?
We are excited to launch a brand new online registration system working in partnership with Ultra Camp. We believe this offers a much improved end user experience. It is an intuitive system designed to help you easily navigate registration, but in case you get stuck we’ve prepared a handy step-by-step reference document. I've forgotten my log-in info to register! What should I do?
Please do not create another account. Please use the “forgot password” function to start the process of resetting your account information.

 

Will my child be in a group with her friends?
Campers are assigned groups by gender and the grade they will be entering in the fall. Click here to see the breakdown of our camp groups.

 

The week I want for my child's group is closed! How can I get him on the wait list?
Campers that are waitlisted and have paid the $10 registration fee will be moved to session openings on a first come basis. See Policies for more details.

What does my child need to bring to camp?
To make things easier for our campers and parents, campers are provided with a storage cubby to keep items they will use throughout the week including: sunscreen, flip flops, and Bible. Towels and bathing suits will be hung up to dry each evening.

  • Bathing suit (modest one-piece for the girls)
  • Towel
  • Sunscreen
  • Flip-flops for the pool area (they should wear closed toed shoes to camp)
  • Bible (Age-appropriate New International Version is recommended)
  • Lunch (if not ordered from Simply Gourmet)
  • Water Bottle 

*On trip days, campers must have brown bag lunches even if they are not attending the field trip. Simply Gourmet catering is not available on those days.

What will my child be doing during the day?
Each camper is encouraged to participate at his or her own comfort level in activities both new and familiar to them. Through daily Bible lessons and song time, Day Camp Sunshine provides opportunities to learn more about Christ and experience His love. Through group games, activities, and long-standing traditions, we create an environment that fosters character development and growth. Some of our awesome activities include talent shows, field trips, sports, carnivals, parent/camper picnics, olympic games, Bible lessons, canoeing, miniature golf, fishing, arts and crafts, Sweet Shoppe visits, song time, and drama performances.

Do you offer extended hours?
Yes! We offer early arrival and late departure free of charge. The earliest you can drop off your camper is 7:30 a.m. Campers may be picked up as late as 6:00 p.m. without a late fee. During this time, campers gather in their designated drop-off/pick-up tents and are free to play games such as knok hockey, game shack (mornings) and other games/toys/crafts campers may bring from home or made at camp!  

How are electives chosen?
Each Monday during Song Time, campers are given the option of choosing an elective to participate in for an hour and a half each day for the duration of that week. While some electives are athletic in nature, others are artistic, while others yet are service-oriented. Click here to see a description of the electives we offer.

Are there any activities offered after camp hours?
We offer pool parties and sleepovers at various times throughout the summer for different camp groups.

What is the policy about medications at camp?
It is the stated policy of DCS, in accordance with NJ State Law, that all camper medications must be kept in the First Aid Office. Campers may not carry prescription or over the counter medications with them. This even includes topical sprays and creams. Counselors may not carry medication for campers.

Our staff has been instructed to confiscate any medication that is found with a camper and turn it into the First Aid Director who will then contact the camper’s primary contact person on file.

Exceptions: Asthma pumps and epi-pens. Even for these however, we must have a medication administration form on file.

Counselors will carry asthma pumps and epi-pens for their campers. During elective time they will switch and the camper will carry it until they return to their group.

Medication Administration Forms are available in the Document Center online. A hard copy, signed form must be turned in along with the medication.

What is your refund policy?

How does the Payment Plan work?
To apply for a payment plan, please complete the necessary forms located in the Document Center. If approved, please note that all remaining balances must be paid in full by September 1st. Failure to comply may result in ineligibility of the payment plan option for future registrations. Contact the Camp Registrar for more information or with questions.  

Are Camper Scholarships available?
Need-based scholarships are available for tuition assistance. Please visit the Document Center to download the Scholarship Form and information. I've applied for a camper scholarship. Am I eligible for other discounts?
No. Those who receive a Camper Scholarship will not receive any additional discounts.

I have a balance on one of my registered weeks and its now April 2nd.
Does the on-time discount rate still apply?

No. Any week still holding a balance after April 1st will lose the Pay in Full discount. If applicable, the Multi-Week discount will remain valid.

Do I have to pack a lunch every day for my child?
Save time and take advantage of a convenient way to provide your child with a delicious lunch at camp! We have partnered with Simply Gourmet Caterers. Click here to learn more. 

Are additional snacks provided?
We provide an afternoon snack at no extra cost.

What is your policy on food allergies?
While we do not prohibit specific foods from our campus (i.e. nuts), we take proper precautions to ensure the safety of our campers with allergies.
